The fine art of promotion

Getting noticed is one of the key concerns for any fresh produce company looking to get listed in a supermarket, but it’s often easier said than done. How can your product be made to stand out from the crowd?

Well one way is to get it featured in trade and, preferably, consumer magazines and more often than not the best means of achieving this is to find the news angle. What’s new or different about your product? Or if the product is relatively conventional, does the variety or soil in which it is produced provide it with any special or interesting taste characteristics? Is it produced in a way that somehow differs from your peers (and here I’m thinking of one company that powered its glasshouses with natural by-products)..?

These are perhaps the kinds of questions you should be asking of yourself and your company if you still have that final hurdle to surmount to achieve listing status for your products.
